It was my first time at Fanexpo. There was a lot of good and a lot of bad that happened over the weekend. There wasn't anything bad about the con itself, it was more about the external factors. Pictures are on the way.
Friday
Got at the bus station at 6:30 in the morning to catch an early bus. Turns out my group was running late so we missed the 7:00 bus. I was pretty angry but there were not enough space on that bus anyway so they sent another bus which we hopped on. There was only 10 or so people on there which made for a peaceful ride.
The hotel was crap, or as one of my roomies called it "a camper." Yes we did book a 2 person room for 4 people, but for the amount of money we had to dish out for the hell hole it wasn't worth it. $140 each for two nights, with 2 single beds, a view of a wall, a minuscule bathroom, a rusty ironing board, no pool, and non-functional electrical outlets! I thought my camera battery died because it wasn't charging. Turns out it was the faulty outlet. I was the only one with a camera in my group. I'll get into more detail about that later.
The con was peaceful. We went into the dealers room to browse. I wore my Halibel, ~
HexReedfly wore a Spyro costume, ~
AsheDelacroixe wore some crazy blue contacts and Lunnie wore normal clothes. The aritist alley was amazing.
I ran into some DA people which makes me happy

. I couldn't take any pictures because I though my battery died. We looked around for a shop that sold my special battery.
We spent the rest of the night finishing up my friends Blame costumes. I fell asleep at about 2 or 3 o'clock but they kept going.
I got interview by the Space channel with ~
Captain-Ruby. She was really nervous but she did a good job.
Saturday

We got up early to finish costumes and line up for the masquerade registration. ~
HexReedfly and I waited in line for about 2 hours. They didn't have the forms printed out. Apparently the printing store wasn't open till 10:30 while registration was supposed to start at 10. I met some neat guys that would be dressed up as 300 Spartans for the masq. There were headed to the mall so I figured I could pick up my camera battery there.
The shops there didn't have my battery neither did the other stores that the shop clerk suggested in the nearby area. I made it back to the hotel at 1pm.
I got into my Viletta cosplay and help my friends as best as I could with theirs. My wig was being a pain. I had to paint some of my hair white to compensate for the lack of coverage. The wig wasn't meant to be tied up. By 4pm I left my friend to search one last time for my battery. I took the very long and hot detour to get to a japan camera in the subway which did not have my battery.
I ran into ~
Captain-Ruby who was nice enough to take some pics of my costume.

Thanks a million or else I wouldn't have had any at all. ~
HexReedfly caught up with us since she needed to be ready for the greenroom for 5pm. My other two friends were still getting ready.
In the end only 2 of 3 ended up on stage since one wasn't feeling too good.

Sunday
I wore my Yoruichi. I had a really hard time with the wig. My hairline kept showing. I discovered that my camera battery wasn't dead but it was the faulty outlet.
The results: Congratz to ~
HexReedfly group who won best sci-fi and best journayman, it is well deserved.

But alas I won nothing... again... for the 4th time in a row. I kept my expectation low but it still stings. So the new year's resolution is officially unattainable and I did not even take one of three step to move up rank. sigh* But the plan is to come back stronger and better next year.
I took a ton of picture of my friends steampunk Original costumes once I charged the camera in a good outlet.
I bought the bulk of my things on sunday. TRC posters, hellsing dvds, glass fleet dvds (already watched it and omg drama!)
I met some neat cosplayers and we all went out for spring rolls. I went to buy my return bus ticket and found out the next bus was at midnight! We killed time at Tim hortons till then.
The line-up was way too long so they sent an extra bus which was ghetto, smelly, noisy, uncomfortable, and it was playing Jesus song. We got back by 4:40am. I went straight to bed when I got home and slept till 3:15pm lol. The latest I have ever slept.
Best quotes of the weekend
Some random drunk guy on the streets at night: "You girls a hot, hot like a barbecue, sizzle sizzle." It was very creepy then but I find it hilarious now.
Lady in our hotel elevator: "Are you girls from cirque de soleil?"

I walked right by you near the Union Station!
*really wishes she got a picture*
On Saturday, my dad wouldn't stop freaking out and bothering me to take pictures: "Get a picture of that Naruto! Get a picture of that Spartan! Go get a picture with that guy, I think he's from your video game!" >.<
Good thing he didn't come on Sunday XD
Wearing cosplays on the train was fun too, lots and lots of awkward stares from people and these little kids from the EX kept walking by my cousin in her Sasuke outfit and kept yelling "IT'S REALLY HIM! LOOK IT'S SASUKE!"
And alot of people in the trains were just like "Yeah, there was a comic book convention or whatever in Toronto today. Looks like those kids went to it."

If you want a better hotel next year, consider staying with my group!
Our room lead (~jusdepomme) has all kinds of hotel booking discounts available to her, and I think it's a really advantageous choice compared to closer hotels which are either more expensive or offer crappier service.
